CATO: Buttered Cat is a charming puzzle platformer inspired by the buttered-cat paradox meme: cats always land on their feet, while toast lands buttered side down. By attaching a slice of buttered toast to a cat’s back, you create a paradox that results in an endlessly spinning, floating butter-cat perpetual motion machine!
In this game, you’ll control two main characters: “Cat” and “Buttered Toast.” Use their interactions to solve various puzzles across each level. The full game features over 140 main levels and more than 60 side levels.
Discover hidden rooms, face challenging boss battles, and enjoy fun mini-games. The complete version also includes an outfit system with over 30 skins for both Cat and Toast for you to collect!
Guide the cat as it runs left and right, climbs scratching posts, and even slips through pipes—because, hey, cats are liquid! You’ll also maneuver the toast, which jumps like a projectile. Hold down and power up for longer jumps, allowing you to launch the toast further.
When Cat and Toast combine, they can trigger the paradox, unlocking unreachable areas. CATO will take you on a brain-teasing adventure across five distinct worlds, each filled with unique contraptions.
