If You Scream, You Restart: DON’T SCREAM is an immersive short horror experience in Unreal Engine 5, inspired by ’90s camcorder-found footage. Created by two indie developers, the game challenges you to explore the eerie Pineview Forest for 18 minutes without screaming.
Sounds easy, right? Here’s the catch: Time only moves forward as you progress, and you can’t predict the terrifying scares lurking around every corner. You’ll need to calibrate your microphone in-game, so even the slightest noise—a whimper, a gasp, or a squeak—counts as a scream, heightening the tension. With dynamic scares that change each playthrough, no two experiences are the same.
It’s the perfect game to send a chill down your spine and scare your friends and family. (Our lead playtester, who also happens to be my wife, is currently recovering in a clinic after her, um… intense experience.)
